Philosophy
THE PHILOSOPHY STATEMENT OF THE ST. CHARLES PRESCHOOL
It is the philosophy of St. Charles Preschool to guide young children and parents with care and concern for the child's world of academics and faith. The first steps into the world require understanding of the individual needs
involving the whole person. Through sharing and learning,the children learn how to relate to their world, addressing their individual needs as well as the needs of the group. The whole person is a balance of physical, mental, social, emotional, and spiritual needs. It is the hope of the St. Charles Preschool to achieve the greatest potential for each individual child in terms of joy, love, and personal success.
MRS. ALEXANDER'S PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY FOR HER STUDENTS
HERE AT ST. CHARLES PRESCHOOL, WE SUPPORT LEARNING THROUGH DOING. THERE ARE MANY OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUR CHILD TO EXPLORE, DISCOVER AND MANIPULATE HIS ENVIORNMENT. WE ENCOURAGE THE SPIRITUAL, ACADEMIC AND SOCIAL GROWTH OF YOUR CHILD. HIS/HER SELF-ESTEEM IS UTMOST IN OUR MINDS. POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT, GENTLE ENCOURGEMENT AND LOVE ARE GIVEN IN LARGE DOSES DAILY. DISCIPLINE IS HANDLED ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS WITH EMPHASIS ON PROBLEM SOLVING THROUGH DISCUSSION. KINDNESS, POLITE BEHAVIOR AND SENSE OF COMMUNITY ARE ALSO STRESSED. WE TAKE GREAT CARE IN RECOGNIZING THE INDIVIDUALITY OF EACH CHILD. EACH CHILD IS UNIQUE AND BRINGS SPECIAL GIFTS TO THE CLASSROOM. OUR GOAL EVERYDAY IS FOR EACH CHILD TO GO HOME FEELING LIKE HE OR SHE IS OUR FAVORITE STUDENT.
