A Note from the Director

Dear Parents:

It is time to look forward to another exciting summer. We have many new classes as well as some old favorites. Like last year, we will not be putting teacher names in the brochure. We will put them on our webpage as decisions are made. We have had problems in the past because teachers listed change due to family moves, illness, and a variety of other reasons. The fact that we need to get the brochure done almost five months before we begin makes teacher certainty a bit difficult.

Thankfully, the remodeling is complete. We will have the entire building back (although we may rotate rooms for cleaning and minor maintenance) and we will have our preschool program back as well. We are so grateful that we do not need to move things one more time!

The Archdiocese of Indianapolis has mandated a new medication policy. The new forms are in the brochure and the full document is available on our web site. Please review the policy as it will make a difference as to how your child’s medication can be administered.

All medications must be in their original container, labeled and left at the office. Exceptions are epipens and inhalers. These can be given to individual teachers or sent from class to class in a child’s back pack. If you bring in special snacks for you child, place them in a sealed container with your child’s name on it. Alert both the office and teacher(s) so we know that they are available. They can be kept in a location separate from other food items.

We try our best to make sure that every child is safe and will work cooperatively with every parent to make sure that this happens. We encourage parents to park and pick up their students at the front door rather than expect children to walk to cars. I know this may take a little extra time, but the safety of your children is my main concern. Letting children walk through a parking lot with moving vehicles is an accident waiting to happen. It is not something I want to experience and I am sure no one else does either, so I ask for everyone’s cooperation on this matter.
